Jocelyn J. Brasher is an attorney in Lamson Dugan & Murray’s Litigation Department, licensed to practice in both Nebraska and Iowa. Jocelyn graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2013. As an Omaha native, she returned home to attend Creighton University School of Law and graduated in 2015, with Certificates of Concentration in both Litigation and Criminal Law and Procedure.


Prior to joining LDM, Jocelyn served the majority of her legal career as an Assistant Attorney General in the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office, Consumer Protection Bureau, where she was responsible for both investigating and enforcing state and federal consumer protection laws in industries ranging from financial services, health care, education, autos, pharmaceuticals, charitable fraud, among many others.


Throughout her tenure as an Assistant Attorney General, Jocelyn held a leadership role in multiple multistate attorney general investigations where she worked collaboratively with other State Attorneys General Offices as well as alongside federal agencies such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission where she fostered strong working relationships with her state and federal counterparts nationwide. In her free time, Jocelyn enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Riley, as well as cooking and baking.

Career Highlights

Tempoe, LLC, Multistate Investigation and Settlement – During her time at the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office, Jocelyn co-led an investigation and settlement over alleged violations of the Nebraska Consumer Protection and Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Acts as well as the Consumer Leasing Act and its implementing Regulation M and the Truth in Lending Act and its implementing Regulation Z regarding its leasing of goods and services. This settlement included 41 states, the District of Columbia, and a parallel settlement by the Consumer Financial Protection, resulting in a $36-million-dollar total settlement.

Bellevue University, Litigation and Settlement – During her tenure at the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office, Jocelyn sued, and ultimately settled with, Bellevue University over alleged violations of the Nebraska Consumer Protection and Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Acts regarding accreditation of their RN to BSN Program. As part of the Settlement, Bellevue University agreed to pay $500,000.

Visibly, Inc., Multistate Investigation and Settlement – While an Assistant Attorney General in the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office, Jocelyn helped lead the Visibly investigation and settlement over alleged violations of Nebraska Consumer Protection and Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Acts regarding advertising and marketing of its telehealth vision tests. This case involved 11 participating states and resulted in a $500,000-dollar settlement payment to the states along with other injunctive relief.
