Attorney Ellen K. Geisler recently obtained a successful result at a jury trial on behalf of a driver involved in a motor vehicle accident in an admitted-liability case. The jury trial was solely on the issue of the nature and extent of Plaintiff’s injuries caused by the accident and the amount of damages that would compensate Plaintiff for those injuries. At the conclusion of trial, Plaintiff’s counsel asked the jury to award $50,000.00 to Plaintiff for past and future pain and suffering. After approximately one hour of deliberation, the jury agreed that Plaintiff’s damages were significantly less, and awarded only $9,100.00 in total to Plaintiff. Prior to trial, Ms. Geisler made an offer of judgment on behalf of her client in the amount of $12,000.00. The jury returned a verdict nearly $3,000.00 less than this pre-trial offer of judgment.
Ms. Geisler successfully obtained a fair and just result for her client after the jury heard the testimony and saw the evidence regarding Plaintiff’s injuries and recovery.
It has been long since I read such an interesting article.
